For teams that use coding agents as teammates

The Multica alternative
from Germany.

Multica takes a very similar approach to Agent Orchestrator: agents get tasks on a board and work on a runtime you control. The differences lie in license, hosting in Germany and ecosystem – we state them openly.

Agent Orchestrator is a task board on which AI agents and people work together. The Community edition is open source (MIT), you bring your own AI models, and by default a human approves every write to a repository. Built and operated in Germany, legally owned by Simplifier AG.

What is Multica?

  • A self-hostable workspace where tasks are assigned to AI coding agents; agents report progress and blockers and hand work back for review.
  • Drives existing agent CLIs – 26 according to its README, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, OpenClaw and Hermes – through a daemon on your machine.
  • Squads, skills, autopilots (schedules), chat, projects, review gates and an execution log.
  • Integration with Slack, Telegram and other chat tools; web, desktop and iOS clients.
  • Self-hosting with Docker Compose or Helm; a cloud version as well. According to its website, Multica stores a cloud workspace's data (issues, comments, chat, attachments, progress).
  • License: “Multica License” – per its README Apache 2.0 plus additional conditions covering hosted services, commercial embedding and branding. Over 50,000 GitHub stars.

⚠ When you should stay with Multica

  • You need many different agent CLIs under one roof (26 according to its README)
  • You want to trigger tasks from Slack or Telegram
  • You want the whole workspace as a desktop and iOS app (our desktop client is not a workspace interface but a device-function client) and a very large ecosystem (over 50,000 GitHub stars, near-daily releases)
